Being a Cannasseur (legally!) Without Breaking the Bank!

This certainly isn’t easy to do nowadays, but I’d given it a shot recently and it hasn’t gone that poorly in my opinion!

This article is going to be all about how to be most efficient with your cannabis use…or…how to use less, but get more!

As alway with cannabis, I need to preface this with the “everybody is different” mantra, so we can get that part out of the way!

However, there are some commonalities for us all, and I’ve described them below.

THC tends to be pricier than CBD, and that is mainly due to access.  With the passing of the 2018 farm bill, hemp products, which are basically EVERYTHING except for THC, are almost identical in nature besides this one piece (which YES, makes a HUUUUGE difference to your effects as well!).  Otherwise, you can use CBD products the same way that you can use THC products as far as their functionality is concerned (again, the EFFECTS you will feel will certainly be different).

This actually works out well, since in my humble opinion even though THC is more fun, my life didn’t start to change for the better with cannabis until I started heavily dipping into the hemp CBD cultivars.  This is where I found the most relief both physically and mentally.  Before CBD, I was ONLY using THC, which was great recreationally and sometimes for pain, but otherwise was left for mostly nighttime usage without having the anchoring effects of CBD available.  Once hemp walked into my life, everything changed!

For starters, CBD tends to extend ONLY THE GOOD effects of THC…so not only do you get MORE out of your THC, but those effects that you’re feeling are more pleasant as well.

Also, for myself anyways, using hemp alone with no THC is effective for daily maintenance, but you miss a little of that “oomph” and power you get out of the THC!  It’s really the two coming together that creates the magic that us cannasseurs all love so much!

So to extend your usage and use less of your products and thus get the best of both worlds…trying using both!  Take a 1:1 ratio if available by mixing some hemp flower that you can buy off of the internet with your THC flower…or add a CBD tablet with your THC tablet next time as well!  There are a bunch of options, but the main point being that they will both synergistically work together to elongate the effects of both as well, which is PLUS for your wallet!

After considering how much CBD/THC to utilize, next to consider is HOW will you consume your cannabis?  Will you vape flower? Concentrates?  Edibles? A little combo of everything? This will also determine how quickly you will work through your stash.

For starters, I like to sustain my elevation with some kind of dosed edible or gummy.  These are easy to take, and you know exactly how much you’re getting.  This is a great way to add a baseline of cannabinoids to your daily use.  Next, I also like the fast-acting options of vaporizing either flower or oil.

Delta-9 vapes at the dispensary are NOT cheap, but the terpenes often are important to get my day going in the right direction in the way I want (or help SHIFT my day/mindset if desired!), so I often will do this with a delta-8 vaporizer utilizing the desired strain since delta-8 strains are more attainable/affordable.  This gives me the Jack Herer Terpenes with a light kick due to the less psychoactive delta-8 THC, and is actually a nice and smooth way to get the day going.  When the terpenes of this strain combine the the delta-9 THC edible that I just took (often also with a CBD gummy to create a 1:1 ratio), this gives me a delta-9 level kick via edibles, but with Jack Herer Terpenes through the delta-8 vape…which I guess is kind of like vaping Jack Herer delta-9 in the end (kind of 🤷‍♂️)!!

This is MUCH cheaper than utilizing delta-9 vapes.  Don’t get me wrong…a delta-9 vape is fantastic and is best kept for myself on the weekends.  But adding these two saves some money and also gives you a very nice functional high that can be varied easily with several delta-8 strains available on the market.

For flower, this is a similar concept, except you can have even MORE customization which can lead to even more savings when it comes to not blowing through your stash! Utilizing hemp flower can help vary and stretch your high (which can be delta-8 sprayed as well for maximum synergy!).  Hemp flower is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than THC flower, so instead of spending the 100 dollars next time on 7 grams of a 1:1 strain at the dispensary, consider buying a smaller amount of a hybrid THC flower (1 or 3.5 grams), and mix that with a larger portion of your hemp flower to make your own 1:1 strain.  Combining your flower in this way makes it easier to create ratios…whether it’s a 1:1 ratio, or a high-CBD 20:1 ratio…or anything in-between!  You can even go the other way and add a little CBD to your THC…up to you! Given that hemp flower is almost always 50-70% cheaper than THC flower, this is a great way to get ALL of your cannabinoids in one sitting for a fraction of the cost of utilizing a high-THC Strain.

Sometimes I like to change that up, however, and buy an indica and sativa strain for my hemp, and combining that with a hybrid high-THC flower.  This way I can have something for nighttime AND daytime if I choose…the combinations are endless!

Lastly, you tend to take multiple hits from a vaporizer bowl, not just one, so it seems that the flower lasts a bit longer as well since I normally will run through the session twice with the same flower buds inside (after this, the taste becomes charred/popcorn like, and is no longer worth vaping).  With a CO2 cartridge vaporizer, it’s so easy and convenient to keep hitting your vape, so you have to be careful to not go too hard on those to save your money.

Sooooo THAT’S IT! Allllll the different ways to utilize cannabis in the cheapest way possible from what I can see so far.  For terpenes and easy access to various strains, delta-8 carts are great to add with your favorite gummy/capsules.  For a more nuanced and customized high, you can’t beat flower, and combining your THC flower with hemp flower is the best way to increase your variations while stretching your dollar, IMO!

So head over to Industrial Hemp Farms or 10 Dollar Cart, grab your goodies, then head to the dispensary finish off your errands! Be safe, responsible, and ENJOY!!
